Billionaire Jun Ji-hyun Impresses with Household Skills, Lee Mi-sook Praises Her as “Truly Smart”

On May 22, a video titled “Lee Mi-sook’s Cooking is Pretty (feat. Jun Ji-hyun’s Recipe)” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Lee Mi-sook’s Elegant Mi-sook.”
While sharing her morning routine, Lee Mi-sook said, “The dishes I make are simple with minimal ingredients. They might not suit everyone’s taste.” She pulled ingredients from the fridge and prepared them with ease, chopping onions, carrots, celery, egg whites, chicken breast, and ginkgo nuts separately. When praised for her cooking skills, she quipped, “I’ve been living as a woman for 60 years!” and playfully scolded, “Don’t film my fridge! I grind everything.”

She added, “If you store kimchi in the fridge, it lasts a week. With these ingredients, I make fried rice for dinner—it’s so hearty. Isn’t this healthy eating? This is what happiness is. It’s the one dish I always make.”
Uniquely, Lee Mi-sook seasoned her dish with salted kelp, mentioning it was a tip from someone else. After completing a healthy sandwich with the ingredients, she offered it to the crew, saying, “It’s delicious, right? But I haven’t tried adding half the nuts you’re eating.” The crew teased, “You’re giving us something you haven’t tried?” and asked, “Do you share food with juniors when you bring it to shoots?” Lee Mi-sook replied, “I don’t share. Forcing people to say it’s delicious, isn’t that what it’s about?” The crew responded, “You know it well,” prompting her to jokingly snap, “Wanna die?”

Lee Mi-sook revealed, “There’s a top actress who’s no joke. She’s a fitness fanatic, and I’ve learned a few recipes from her.” She named Jun Ji-hyun as the source. The salted kelp seasoning tip also came from Jun Ji-hyun. **Lee Mi-sook **praised her, saying, “Jun Ji-hyun is so quick and really smart. She knows how to cook eggs perfectly. When I asked why eggs stick to the shell, she told me to cool them in cold water right away to prevent it. She brings food to sets and takes care of the staff with healthy meals. She also taught me about adding salted kelp to soft tofu.”
Lee Mi-sook shared that Jun Ji-hyun told her, “I want to work as long as you have.” She added, “To work long, you need to stay healthy.” When asked provocatively if she follows** Jun Ji-hyun’s** workout routine, Lee Mi-sook boasted, “I had prince-like abs in my 20s. If YouTube existed back then, I’d have shown them off daily. I was crazy about fitness in my 20s.”

Her advice for seniors? “Keep moving all day.” She explained, “From the moment I wake up until 7 p.m., I’m constantly moving. I take out the trash one piece at a time, deliberately grab one thing at a time from the fridge.” Her older sister nearby teased, “Isn’t it because you forget?” Lee Mi-sook laughed, admitting, “Sometimes I do forget.”
She emphasized, “Everything is about staying active. I finish housework by 11 a.m., go out, and return by 5 p.m. As you age, you need to learn how to spend time alone. Let go of greed and hold on to health.”

On her passion for acting, she said, “I’ll die never satisfied with acting. An actor’s job is to give their all to a role. If the audience finds it lacking, it’s lacking. But I’ve never heard that about my work.” Playfully, she added, “Who’s an actor that performed with heart, not just head, recently? Lee Mi-sook,” sparking laughter.
Meanwhile, Jun Ji-hyun, married to Choi Joon-hyuk, CEO of Alpha Asset Management since 2012, continues her career while raising two sons. She has confirmed roles in Disney+’s original series Polaris and director Yeon Sang-ho’s new film Colony. Jun Ji-hyun reportedly owns multiple large buildings and residences in Seoul’s key business districts, with assets valued at hundreds of billions of won.
